White Rabbit Healing – Cupping Treatment!

Imagine entering a world of self care right in the heart of Glasgow city centre.

Well Fallon Calberry, founder of Blow hair salons and absolute boss babe, has created exactly that in the form of UNBRANDED – a creative hub which showcases independent beauty and wellness brands with a focus on modern self-care and wellbeing.

One of the brands taking up residence is White Rabbit Healing with an impressive menu of holistic treatments.

I honestly couldn’t decide what to book but in the end I opted for cupping after letting my Instagram followers choose my treatment.

So what the fuck is cupping some of you are probably wondering… it basically  involves placing jars on the skin and creating a vacuum by suctioning out the air – underlying tissue is sucked partway into the cup. The purpose of cupping is to enhance circulation, help relieve pain, shift “stagnant blood” and pull out the toxins that linger in your body’s tissues.

You may be familiar with the temporary red circles as a result of cupping which has been spotted on many an athlete and celebrity – from wellness trendsetter Gwyneth Paltrow to Justin Beiber more recently.

Gwyneth Paltrow is my not so secret girl crush so I was definitely more excited than nervous about finally giving this treatment a try! However,  I have no intention of steaming my vagina anytime soon. If you know, you know.

I was welcomed by Suzanne into her super cute and cozy room, we then chatted away about what to expect during and after my treatment.

I then hopped on the heated bed which was absolutely delightful and was given wireless headphones to pop on to ensure relaxing music zoned out any sounds from the busy salon.

I was given a wonderful massage before cups were applied and a little warning just before first cup to stop me getting a shock.

When I asked my Instagram followers if they had any questions about cupping the most asked was definitely whether the treatment was sore? It was a little tight feeling when cups were first applied but not definitely not painful.

I was actually really relaxed throughout the treatment in my lovely warm bed and each time a cup was removed the release felt amazing.

Afterwards I was offered a gin from the complimentary bar upstairs but I was so chilled I chose to go straight home to slipper socks and puppy cuddles.

The aftercare was simple: stay hydrated, avoid cold foods and wrap up warm.

I was left with many a polka dot as expected but if it’s good enough for Gwyneth…

Fast forward a few days and the marks on my lower back have almost disappeared but my shoulders still resemble a horny teenager.

I am definitely going to be trying more holistic treatments so make sure to follow my blog and Instagram.

Big Loves,

Gems x
